The Old Ones

"Those that came before" as they are well known in legends told. The Old Ones were proud ancestors to many and are attributed with taming the wild seas and calming the volcanic fires that bore the lands. Their calm majesty that gave claim to a great many thing such ending the chaos birth of the world and turning those wild energies into magick, learning secrets from listening to the ebs and flows of the sea itself. Of course, depending whom you ask, the Jotuns were also the ones to teach them this. Some would tell you that the races of domhaine were chosen to become sentient by the Old Ones

Little is even known for sure about the Old Ones. And even less that hasn't been corrupted to time. It is generally accepted there were ancient people before the time of the current races, despite little to no ruins or artifacts even remain before the time they disappeared.

It is up for debate what the Old Ones knew and hadn't. Some say they were wiser than any today, living hundreds of times longer than any species now. Others will say they were a primitive people that hardly survived before new species came along.

It is also said that the Old Ones gave birth to the Ancients. The Ancients then split the lands of Domhaine one thousand times over. The Ancients gave rise to Magick and taught the secrets to the creatures of the world. And it was with providing these forbidden secrets that ended the time of the Old Ones and Ancients either by force or to the mere fact there was nothing more they could do for the world and so left to other worlds or realms. Some even say the Ancients became the gods (Caelia) or turned into Dragons. But, who's to say with no hint of their existence in the first place.

The Old Ones were said to be a single race of it's own. But, it was the Ancients that were the ancestors to current races, each in their uniqueness.
